The team from the Ministry of Health’s Vector Control Unit will target districts in St John and St Michael when they conduct their fogging exercise this week.

They will concentrate their mosquito eradication efforts in St John for the first four days of the week, Monday, January 15, to Thursday, January 18, before turning attention to areas in St Michael on Friday, January 19.

On Monday, the following areas will be sprayed: Welch town, Pot House, Coach Hill, Cliff Cottage, Glebe Land, Colleton and environs. The next day, Tuesday, the Unit will visit Gall Hill avenues, Cheshire, Moore’s Land, Roebuck Street, and surrounding areas.

The team will fog Pool Land No. 1 and No. 2, Spooners, Cherry Grove, Henley, and neighbouring districts on Wednesday. Then on Thursday, the Unit will finish up in St John when Gall Hill Terrace, Carter’s, and Small Hope will be targeted.

The fogging exercise will conclude for the week on Friday, in the following St Michael communities: Farm Housing Area, Rosemont, Dodson Land, Ashdeane Village, and environs.

Fogging takes place from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily. Householders are reminded to open their windows and doors so that the spray can enter. Children should not be allowed to play in the spray.

Members of the public are advised that the completion of scheduled fogging activities may be affected by events beyond the Unit’s control. In such circumstances, the Unit will return to communities affected in the soonest possible time. (BGIS)
