THE TRANSPORT BOARD is carrying out urgent repairs at the Granville Williams Bus Terminal at Fairchild Street, The City.

Hoarding has been placed around the front of the terminal but the public can still utilise the main access and walk-way.

Chief executive officer of the Transport Board, Fabian Wharton, yesterday told the DAILY NATION the repairs should take about three weeks. He said the vendors who ply their trade on the outside of the terminal would be accommodated in other areas.

โ€œWe are fixing broken glass on that unoccupied space and some guttering work,โ€ Wharton said.

Leaks were detected in the roof, he said, which would be addressed.

Wharton said vendors who sell in front of the terminal were advised of the repairs and would โ€œmanoeuvre for a while around the area and in the back.โ€ (MB)
