UPDATE: Shooting death in St Lucy

The man who was shot and killed at Checker Hall Cross Road, St Lucy yesterday evening was identified as Vere Ricardo Hoyte.

The 30-year-old from Isolation Road, Belleplaine, St Andrew, was liming in the area around 5 p.m. when a motor vehicle stopped close by. Police say a series of gun shots were heard and he was seen lying on the ground.

Medical attention was summoned and he was later pronounced dead at the scene by a medical doctor.

This is the second murder for 2025.
