Should I tell brother about the affair?

Date:

Dear Christine, I was just made to understand that my brother’s wife was carrying on an affair behind his back for almost a year. The affair ended two months ago.

Christine, it’s my favourite and youngest brother. I want to tell him about the affair. I am sure if he knew about it she would have been history long time ago. I don’t want to see the children get hurt, but the information I now have is haunting me. If my brother knew my husband had cheated and didn’t tell me, I would be furious. On the other hand, telling my brother will hurt him.

What should I do?

– SUE Dear Sue, I think you should withhold this information from your brother because it will only cause him significant pain.

If you want to talk to someone, it’s your sister-in-law you should talk to. You can let her know what you discovered and share your thoughts and feelings about the situation.

Don’t threaten her in anyway. You can, however, let her know that you will always have your brother’s best interest at heart, and you hope what she did will not happen again.

I believe as long as she knows you are aware of the affair, she’ll think twice about having any kind of affair in the future.

– CHRISTINE
