Burger King Clapham Toners continued their impressive form when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 Volleyball League continued on Sunday night at Oldbury.
With another superlative performance from Ashley Jordan, Toners crushed Deacons in straight sets 25-19, 25-23, 27-25.
Toners dominated all facets of the game with the experienced setter Shennel Pooler getting good ground support from improving libero Shamandra Shillingford.
Deacons welcomed specialist setter Andrea Flores back from injury for her first game of the season. But, other than serving some tough balls, Flores made little impact and back-up setter Lyn-Marie Deane retook the setting role. Even so, Deacons never matched the fury from Jordan, Akillah Phillips, Noarie Proverbs and Danielle Brathwaite. (KB)
