St George North recorded their first ever win in tournament history when they made light work of Christ Church West as the David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils Football Classic continued at Bridgefield on Saturday night.
Goals from Shaine Hermas, Chad Alleyne and Shanquan Barton sealed an impressive 3-0 win for the St George side over Christ Church West. The winners will now be harbouring hopes of advancing to the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, in the night’s other game, St Thomas claimed a narrow 1-0 win over St Joseph, thanks to a Shaquille Stewart strike in the 40th minute.
St George North were under pressure for the first 15 minutes of the game, with Christ Church West monopolising possession and looking the more likely to break the deadlock. (ML)
