Fast-food outlets have been told to do more to offer a healthier choice to their patrons.
Lawyer Andrew Pilgrim threw out this challenge to fast-food chains Chefette Restaurants Ltd and KFC Barbados during his address at the Elsie Payne Memorial Lecture at Queen’s College on Wednesday.
Pilgrim, who was supported by the audience, lamented that Barbados’ healthcare bill was too massive and due in part to the pandemic of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
He said this trend could be reversed simply if Barbadians controlled the foods they consumed. (SDB MEDIA)
