Police have arrested and jointly charged Corey Cleophus Parris, 45, of Shop Hill, St Thomas, and Shakir Omari Maycock, 23, of 7th Avenue, New Orleans, St Michael, for unlawful possession of a firearm, and unlawful possession of six rounds of ammunition.
These offences were allegedly committed on October 3, whist at Cane Garden, St Thomas.
Around 4:45 p.m., members of the Tactical Response Unit (TRU), where on duty along Sunflower Drive, Cane Garden, St Thomas conducting an operation. During the operation Parris was seen driving a motor car, accompanied by Maycock. The vehicle was stopped by the use of the siren, and a subsequent search of the car revealed the firearm and ammunition.
Parris and Maycock were arrested and jointly charged for the offences.
Parris faces additional charges of no driver’s license and no third party insurance.
Parris and Maycock appeared before Magistrate Wanda Blair in the Holetown Magistrates Court today, and were remanded to prison to reappear in the District ‘D’ Magistrates Court on October 24. (PR)
