SHAKIRA DOUGHLIN provided proof she can compete with the elite in bikini fitness with an impressive third place in her class at the Amateur Olympia in Las Vegas, Thursday night.
“I came third and I feel great. It was a surreal moment when the class of 30 girls huddled to hear their numbers for the top 5 and I heard mine − it answers the questions that crossed my mind every time I ate a meal or went to the gym or made a sacrifice – “will it be enough or will I place?”
“Everytime I put in any effort for any show, sometimes there are moments of anxiety when you question all the effort you put in and this experience was my answer. I am going in the right direction,” she told SATURDAY SPORT via Facebook.
This is the biggest result to-date for the undisputed national champion, who was competing in her fifth contest for the 2017 season. (MK)
