A LOT OF the industrial action and industrial unrest in Barbados is caused by the actions of senior officers in Government, says trade unionist Mary Redman.
Redman, president the Barbados Secondary Teachers’ Union (BSTU), was speaking ahead of a 9:30 meeting at Solidarity House for BSTU members this morning.
In a press release from the union, she lamented the level of “disrespect” to the unions and disregard for law and legislation shown by the officers and the various ministries. She accused both parties of not dealing with matters in a timely enough manner or sometimes not responding at all.
“The law cannot apply to one set of people and not to the rest,” she stated. (YB)
