SPORTING FANS ARE getting an enhanced and “excellent” Gymnasium of the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex according to interim chief executive officer of National Sports Council, Jerry Blenman.
Blenman told MIDWEEK SPORT he was delighted to see sports led by basketball back on the gymnasium floor.
“The Gymnasium is ready. It was used for CARIFESTA and we are already having basketball. It is great to have it back in use again. There are still one or two issues to be looked at but I am happy,” he said.
Only last week Minister of Sport Stephen Lashley indicated he was impressed by the work being done within budget and within the deadline, which underscored the professionalism of the workers of China. (MK)
