Update: Police seeking to identify body found in St George

POLICE SAY THEY are conducting thorough investigations into the circumstances which resulted in this morning’s discovery of the body of a male Caucasian in a remote area of St George.

There is speculation that the body is that of missing British national Steven Weare who was reported missing a week ago.

Spokesman Acting Inspector Rodney Inniss said acting on information received, officers were led to a remote area at Hillside Garden, The Mount.

“At this stage we are conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of an unnatural death as it relates to this body. We are actively seeking to have a positive identification of this body. A further update will be given as this matter develops,” Inniss said.

Anyone who can provide any information that can assist with these investigations are asked to call 211, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIPS (8477) or the nearest police station.
