RECENT GUN VIOLENCE has plunged Barbados into a crisis, says a former attorney general.
Barbados Labour Party shadow attorney general Dale Marshall made the assessment in the aftermath of a shooting that claimed the lives of two St Philip men on Tuesday night.
“We are a country in shock. With the brutal shooting deaths of two young men in Marley Vale, St Philip, [Tuesday] night, we [are] now reeling from an unprecedented five gun-related homicides in this month alone, four in the last nine days.
“The picture that the world now has of Barbados is no longer a place of peace and tranquility, but a small country with uncontrolled gang violence and brazen public shootings. (JS/PR)
