Tanvir rips tridents apart

BARBADOS TRIDENTS WERE undone by Guyana Amazon Warriors last night.

Let’s start again. The Tridents were destroyed by Sohail Tanvir.

In a devastating spell of left-arm fast bowling in which the tall Pakistani fast bowler moved the ball prodigiously, Tanvir effectively decided the outcome of the first Hero Caribbean Premier League (CPL) match at Kensington Oval this season with a telling four-wicket new ball burst on the way to the remarkable figures of five wickets for three runs.

And they were four big, big names in that new ball mayhem – Dwayne Smith, the only batsman with four CPL hundreds, prolific New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, successful England T20 skipper Eoin Morgan and Tridents captain Kieron Pollard, who needs no introduction. (HG)
