BARBADIANS WILL SOON be able to have free medical check-ups and possibly access to free medication when the American University of Barbados (AUB) rolls out itsfree clinic.

AUB president, Meesam Ali Khan, said this was the first step to the offshore medical school opening a hospital here.

“I came here because we are very soon going to start a free clinic, Khan said. “And we are applying for the distribution of free medicine also, like what we do in India.”

The offshore medical school opened in Barbados six years ago and earlier this year bought the old BET building at Wildey, St Michael, as its campus. Khan said the school had big plans for the sprawling facility. (MB)
