THE GRANTLEY ADAMS INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT returned to normalcy yesterday morning when it reopened around 11 a.m.

Several passengers boarding American Airline and Jet Blue flights had already started to gather around 10 a.m. to check in, only to find barricades across the entrance to the airport.

As a result, many of them were forced to wait at the nearby Esso Service Station until the all-clear was given following Tropical Storm Harvey.

American visitors, such as Tom and Suzanne Poteval and Ron and Dawn Plaza, said they were informed by American Airlines personnel that the flight would be leaving at noon, so they headed to the airport two hours ahead of that time to check-in. (MB)
