‘Birds’ still flying high

THE RETURN of United States-based players and the departure of regional competitors made no impact on the results when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division One Volleyball League continued on Tuesday night at the Wildey Gymnasium.

The new league queens UWI Blackbirds moved towards a perfect league despite fielding a depleted team due to illness and some of their key players returning home for the Christmas holiday.

Blackbirds flew to 12/0 and 53 points by dismissing Theta Math Academy Club United 26-24, 25-21, 25-18.(KB)
