BARBADOS COULD WELL find itself closed for business for most of tomorrow.
The trade union movement and much of the business community, under the umbrella of the Barbados Private Sector Association, are both standing in solidarity for a planned march through the main streets of The City.
They are protesting Freundel Stuart’s administration not meeting with them on the controversial National Social Responsibility Tax, which was raised during the May 30 budget from two to ten per cent.
At least 20 companies, ranging from major supermarkets to auto dealers, announced they will be changing their opening hours in order to show support for the cause and allow workers to participate in the 10 a.m. event, scheduled to start and end at Queen’s Park. (AD)
