Northern residents will now have easier access to medical care thanks to the official launch of MD Urgent Care at the junction of Mile and a Quarter, St Peter.
Capable of servicing 20 patients and backed by a complement of four physicians, the new location will offer feasible alternatives for residents in St Lucy, St Peter and St James to receive preliminary health care.
The clinic offers clinical forensic medicine and emergency medicine; the latter encompassing accidents, workplace accidents, sexual assault, child and elder abuse.
During the official launch ceremony, owner and director Dr La-Toniá Arthur said it was a life-long goal, adding that access to health care was about more than the existence of medical services, but also the proximity and confidence that when you needed medical attention, there was somewhere you could turn.
