THE SCHOOL’S ACTION was based on its zero tolerance to fighting, and a student’s suspension had nothing to do with bullying.
This was the response from principal Anthony Alleyne (below) of the Deighton Griffith School when asked by the DAILY NATION about a report from a parent that her daughter was sent home after being bullied by two students at the Christ Church school. 
Sharlene Holder reported she was unhappy that her 12-year-old girl, who she said had suffered soft tissue damage to her arms, back and thighs, was sent home.
Alleyne said that a detailed investigation revealed the incident was a fight. (AD)
