SHAQUON HENRY smashed his way to the boys’ title and helped Ellerslie Secondary capture the team trophy at the inaugural Secondary Schools’ Road Tennis Championships at the National Sports Council’s courts yesterday.

The talented 15-year-old derailed Nicholas “Nik-Nik” Ellis’ plans of taking home the title for St George Secondary when he won in straight sets, 21-15, 21-15.

Henry, who shared out multiple sows throughout the competition, said the victory was not an easy one since his opponent was an outstanding player.

“It was pretty awesome. I had to fight hard to win the game because he is a very good and talented player, so I know I had to come with my best,” he said. (RG)
