KENYA IS NOW no-go for Barbados too.

It looks like the Athletics Association of Barbados (AAB) also can’t get past those security concerns surrounding Nairobi, having opted against sending a team to next month’s IAAF Under-18 Championships in Kenya.

The AAB made the announcement in a press release yesterday after initially weighing its options for months following the decision of the Unites States, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom to pull out of the youth meet.

“We have paid special attention to the fact that the US State Department gives Kenya ‘a crime and terrorism rating of critical, the highest level possible’. The security summary associated with this risk assessment indicates that the ‘risks includes all types of crime, from theft to violent crime and terrorism’, the AAB wrote in the release. (JM)
