THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER of the long-running Gospelfest show says taxes and restrictions are stagnating the entertainment industry.

Adrian Agard, the man behind the production, said there was much entertainment to be developed but “restrictive regulations” were blocking the potential.

He was speaking to the DAILY NATION yesterday during the climax of the 25th anniversary of Gospelfest’s Flow One Awesome Day at Farley Hill National Park, St Peter.

“One of the big challenges with event planning is the regulations. I understand why people don’t plan events and why there are not a lot of events. You will find a number of very talented musicians coming out of the Barbados Community College’s music programme and I don’t feel we have enough activities to keep them busy. It is impossible within this festival to bring all of that talent to the forefront,” he said.
