BA flight grounded after systems crash

SCORES OF TRAVELLERS intent on heading back home to the United Kingdom were left a disappointed bunch yesterday because British Airways was forced to cancel its evening flight from the Grantley Adams International Airport to London.

Yesterday’s issues were the result of a complete crash of the British Airways computer system, which forced the airline to cancel all outbound flights from both the Gatwick and Heathrow airports in London.

More than 150 passengers at Grantley Adams stood in lines at the British Airways desk, while others sat on the ground, all hoping BA 2154 would take off at its scheduled 5:10 p.m. departure time to arrive in London just after 6 a.m. this morning.

Alas, luck was not on their side as the flight to Gatwick was grounded. But they should be in a better mood today, as the airline promised normal business should resume in 24 hours for passengers flying to the UK. (BA)
