Lesson from the king

GOOD ALWAYS TRIUMPHS over evil was one of the lessons patrons attending the adaption of Disney’s Lion King surely took home on Thursday night.

The sixth event in the Gospelfest calendar also showed the importance of knowing who you are, not letting your past mistakes dictate your present or your future, actions have consequences so think before you act, handling disappointment and forgiveness.

The show at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre was truly enjoyable, with great make-up, costumes, and singing from the cast and the choir, which comprised a number of school choirs and groups.

It was a pleasure to see the principals of the award-winning Praise Academy of Dance tackle the musical, which also played on Broadway and whose animated movie version was released in 1994. (GBM)
