Thrill for Deacons

DEACONS FARM FC are celebrating twice over this year after securing the Lambert Thomas Zone and the Barbados Football Association’s Division Two titles, earning them an automatic promotion to Division One.

Speaking to the SATURDAY SUN recently, coach Terry Adamson said they pulled out all the stops to secure both titles.

“Last year we won the Lambert Thomas Zone, but we had six points deducted for not parading, which evidently led to the BDF team pipping us by one point and going on to First Division.

“That could have been a heart-breaker or a motivator for this year. For me it was heartbreak, but this young crop already had a winning mentality, so it was just to fill in one or two spots with more experienced guys,” the soft-spoken former national footballer said. (RA)
