Fogging schedule May 29 to June 2

THE MINISTRY OF HEALTH’S Vector Control Unit’s efforts to control the spread of dengue and other mosquito borne illnesses continues next week, when a number of districts across Barbados will be fogged.

On Monday, May 29, the districts to be fogged in St James are Layne’s Road, Payne’s Bay, Chapel Road, Clarke’s Road, Derricks, Appleby Gardens and surrounding areas.

The following day, Tuesday, May 30, the fogging team will target districts in St Peter, namely Queen Street, Archers Lane, Bovell Road, Porters Road, Mango Lane, Chapel Street, Gooding Alley, Church Street, Major Walk and the environs.

The fogging exercise will continue on Wednesday, May 31, in the parish of St Andrew. The team will spray Savannah Road, Shorey Village, Doughlin Tenantry, St Andrew’s Church, Walkers, Bawdens, Babylon Road and neighbouring districts.

The vector team will visit St George and St John on Thursday, June 1, to target Sweet Vale, Mount Tabor, Venture, Easy Hall and surrounding areas.

The Ministry’s Vector Control Unit returns to the parish of St James on Friday, June 2. The areas to be sprayed are Fitts Village, Risk Road, Vaughn’s Road, Berbice Nos. 1 and 2, Piggott Road, Jordan’s Road, Johnson Road, Prospect Road and the environs.

Residents in these districts are encouraged to open their windows and doors to allow the fog to penetrate. Children should not be allowed to play in the fog or run behind the fogging machine. (BGIS)
