MEMBERS OF THE Barbados Horticulture Society (BHS) are hoping to continue their gold streak at the annual Chelsea Flower Show this year.

For the past 28 years Barbados has copped gold or silver at the world’s biggest floral exhibition. Since 2014 the island has won gold three times in a row, and this year florists are planning to continue on this high note.

BHS president Orson Daisley told the MIDWEEK NATION this year’s theme, This Is How We Live, would represent the colourful gardens which beautify chattel houses, plantations and villas across the island.

He joined about 30 BHS members and volunteers yesterday preparing the flowers, plants and foliage for the show, which will be held on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea in Chelsea, London, next week. (SB)
