Dress code ‘part of good service’

DRESS CODES SERVE a purpose, and are part of an enhanced provision of good service.

That’s the belief of Kim Tudor, the chief executive officer of the National Initiative for Service Excellence (NISE), in response to decisions by some Government agencies to enforce a strict dress code to people doing business at their offices.

The matter was brought to light again recently, after some members of staff of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital’s Outpatients Clinic became frustrated with the constant loose modes of dress by some doing business there, and unilaterally decided to enforce a strict dress code, and even constructed a sign.

The decision did backfire, though, with hospital management ordering the sign to be removed until a QEH sanctioned sign could be produced.
