ONE GREAT DESIRE I HAVE is to build a beautiful house for my wife and children. Those who know me well know how much I love home and how much I like nice things and excellence. Although my preference is to build, I have finally found a house that I am willing to buy. It isn’t perfect but it definitely has great potential.
Many times we miss great opportunities and blessings because we are looking for what is perfect and not what has potential. I am guilty of this mindset also, but have been working on it over the past two years. My family counsellor told me I am a perfectionist and I have recognised how this trait has caused me to miss so much.
The beautiful thing about potential is that with time, energy, hard work, creativity, talent, support of others and God, you can develop any opportunity or blessing to “perfection”, that is, completion. Last Sunday while at church at New Dimension Ministries, Prophet Dwayne Howard in his message, Seed Towards Your Seizing, encouraged us to seize any opportunity, enjoy figuring it out and perfect it on the way with God. The entire message was videotaped and is on YouTube.
It is my belief that perfection is generally informed by our “soul” (emotion and intellect) and is generally defined by the world or our fleshly nature. Potential, on the other hand, is our ability to accept the evidence of what is and visualise what it could be, with hope that it would be actualised in the future. Potential is a cousin of faith – they are from the same family. As a result, potential is birthed from the Spirit and is not a fruit of the soul or flesh. I would even say that the ability to see potential (vision/future) is often in conflict with what is “perfect” (emotions/intellect/now).
Truth is, almost all things we see “potential” in, others see as a waste or a stupid investment. Ever thought why? Potential is based on the spirit and your relationship with the Holy Spirit is unique. Of course to others it looks useless; that’s because God revealed the potential to you, not to them. Potential is the beginning of the journey to perfection and every journey produces growth, which benefits you, and experiences, which benefit others.
When I started to write this, I had no idea it would go this way. This was all inspired from the message on Sunday, which revealed that at various times in our lives we are “seeders” and “leechers”. I am glad it turned out this way though, because this is benefiting me as well.
I am a seeder and I have something inside me to give (upload) that is of value to you. I am “seeding” right now and I hope you take the opportunity to be a “leecher” and receive (download) what is for you from this message.

These steps also apply to jobs, educational goals, creating a business, production, purchasing land or a house, buying a vehicle, changing locations, migrating, pursuing a new hobby, building friendships, making an investment, and the list goes on.
The world and our soul (emotion and intellect) often dictate what we define as perfect, but it’s through the spirit that we see true potential. Just remember these three steps: Step 1. See the potential; Step 2. Seize the opportunity and Step 3. Perfect the blessing.
