THE MASTER BLASTER was in attacking mood yesterday, smashing the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) over the boundary for six over their strained relationship with high-profile players.
In some hard-hitting remarks, Sir Vivian Richards blamed the perceived arrogance of administrators involved in West Indies cricket for the failure to ensure the best players in the region remain available for international duty.
Richards, a former long-standing captain, who never lost a Test series, made that assertion yesterday following the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is again featuring box-office West Indian cricketers such as Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Sammy and Darren Bravo.
While these players are now in India to participate in the IPL, the West Indies will begin a three-match one-day International series against Pakistan in Guyana, tomorrow. (EZS)
