UPDATE: Man succumbs to injuries sustained in house fire

THE MAN WHO was pulled from his burning home yesterday has succumbed to the injuries.

Nigel Anderson Corbin, 59, who reportedly sustained burns over 70 per cent of his body, passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) around 1 a.m. Sunday.

Police are conducting investigations into the fire which occurred around 10:30 a.m., at Corbin’s #2 Broomfield, St Lucy, home.

Four other people, ages 48, 30, 27 and 9 years, were the other occupants of the four bedroom, one bathroom wood and wall house.

Corbin was pulled from the burning house by a family member and a neighbour.

He received medical attention from ambulance personnel on the scene and was subsequently taken to the QEH by ambulance having sustained third degree burns to his body. (PR/SAT)
