TODAY’S COMPETITION in pursuit of the Esther Maynard Zone titles of the Barbados Secondary School’s Athletic Championships (BSSAC) is likely to produce an enthralling battle.

On the first day of the zone meet at the National Stadium yesterday, Harrison College boys established a 26.5-point lead, while Springer Memorial are up in the girls by a mere ten points.

Though holding the second place spot in both the girls’ and boys’ divisions at the moment, Christ Church Foundation have made it clear they aren’t willing to settle for the runners-up positions.

By the day’s end Harrison College boys had amassed 214 points, Christ Church Foundation 187.5, with Alleyne School in third with 139.5 points. (RG)
