Durant frowns on sex programme

A GOVERNMENT senator and pastor is advising the Freundel Stuart administration and parent-teacher associations to resist the introduction of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) in schools.

As he debated the Appropriation Bill 2017 in the Senate yesterday, Rev. Dr David Durant denounced CSE as one of the greatest assaults on the health and innocence of children.

“This is because unlike traditional sex education, Comprehensive Sexuality Education uses explicit material to promote promiscuity and high-risk sexual behaviour to children as healthy and normal,” he said.

“Many parents overseas and other places have complained about this. That is why I’m hoping that it wouldn’t get a firm root here in Barbados. . . (WILLCOMM)
