BAYLEY’S PRIMARY threw down the gauntlet from the very first race, forcing all contenders to chase them as they ran away with the boys’ title at the Pine Hill Dairy National Primary School Athletics Championships.
This was in stark contrast to the girls’ competition, which saw two schools sharing the lead at one point before Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary emerged champions.
At the Usain Bolt Sports Complex yesterday, Bayley’s, who captured the boys’ title in 2002 and 2011, amassed 147 points, while Charles F. Broome girls took their third title with 127.50 points after winning in 2008 and 2015.
Trailing 73 points behind in the boys were Wesley Hall Primary School with 74 points. Third were St Cyprian’s Boys’ with 67 points. (RG)
