Firebirds scorch Silver Raiders

SPOONERS HILL Firebirds showed why they played unbeaten in the 2016 Division 2 league by humbling Structural Systems Silver Raiders 66-22 when the senior netball knockouts continued on Wednesday night at the Netball Stadium.

Even a casual effort from former Barbados sharpshooter Lydia Bishop offered Raiders little hope with southpaw Bishop sinking a whopping 54 goals from 68 attempts.

Former junior player Quintya Rudder contributed eight from ten attempts before going off with cramp in the third quarter for Kellyann Knight to enter and score four from six attempts at goal attack.

At the other end of the court, Raiders. who were similarly outscored by the promoted Firebirds in both rounds of the 2016 season seemed to be lost after scoring four goals to Firebirds’ 19 in the first quarter. (KB)
