FORMER WELTERWEIGHT boxing champion Chester “Fast Hands” Ellis is down and almost out.

The 63-year-old, who knocked out many opponents back in the 1970s, has found himself on hard times withno one in his cornerto help him out.

Partially blind and living in a shack with no water and electricity for the past 14 years, he told the DAILY NATION he did not know whereto turn for help.

“I went to Urban [Development Commission] years ago and they come out here and take pictures and say once I get land, they will come and build the house,” he said. “The landlord give me permission to build and I went back to them and they tell me them ain’t got no money.” (MB)
