THE CHAMPS are definitely the ones to beat.

Orange 3 Pinelands bounced back from an early double-digit deficit before keeping Hilton Barbados Warriors winless via Thursday’s 77-60 victory in the Co-operators General Insurance Basketball Premier League at the Barbados Community College.

It was the defending champs’ second win in as many games and their second straight over a playoff team following their season-opening triumph over preseason favourites Urban Vybz St John’s Sonics.

But Warriors haven’t had similar success, falling to 0-2 to start this year after making an impressive run to the play-offs last season. (JM)
