UWI to open two stalled projects

TWO STALLED UNIVERSITY of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus projects are set to be soon officially opened.

And with it, the university will have another revenue-earning stream.

After being hampered by financial constraints, the Confucius Institute is set to officially be opened next month, while the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park is scheduled to open its doors by month-end.

The institute will primarily offer students Chinese and Mandarin programmes, as well as host Chinese-related activities, but plans are also in place to lease a section of the building. (RB)
