BCD still waiting on Road Traffic Act change

ONE YEAR AGO members of the island’s disabled community submitted a petition with nearly 12 500 signatures to Prime Minister Freundel Stuart.

To date, that community is still awaiting word on amendments to the Road Traffic Act which would make it illegal to park in spaces assigned to disabled drivers.

Operations manager for the Barbados Council for the Disabled (BCD) Roseanna Tudor made this disclosure during a Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) press conference yesterday.

“We have the parking which has been on the Government’s plate now for a couple years now,” Tudor said while speaking at CTUSAB’s headquarters at Jessamine Cot, Beckles Rd, St Michael. (AD)
