Governor’s appeal to be heard on Thursday

A DAY BEFORE a court ban runs out on Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler’s attempt to fire Governor of the Central Bank Dr DeLisle Worrell, the Court of Appeal will hear the case involving the two.

The matter has been set down for Thursday.

The minister has been unable to carry out a threat to get rid of the Central Bank boss to whom he gave an ultimatum on February 10 to resign or be fired by the end of business on February 13.

Worrell armed himself with attorney Gregory Nicholls and secured a rare Sunday sitting of the court in which Justice Randall Worrell issued that injunction blocking the minister from carrying out any threat against the governor who has lodged a lawsuit against Sinckler. (AC)
