FOR THE PAST four years, owner of Halton Plantation in St Philip, Robin Watson, said he has been trying to get the Barbados Water Authority (BWA) to do its due diligence and he has had enough.
Watson alerted the WEEKEND NATION to an issue he said could pose a danger to users as well as a legal headache for the 200-acre plantation.
“Rayside did this road and the Water Authority come and dig out culverts for pipes but have not filled them in. The problem is the land is road reserve so while the utilities can reserve the right to use it, it is still Halton land and if somebody should come this side and drop down in that ditch, they will sue Halton not the BWA,” he said.
Watson said he had made calls and visited the authority on more than one occasion, but was frustrated as nothing had been done as yet. (CA)
