THE BARBADOS ELECTRONIC Single Window (BESW) will facilitate more than 190 forms in an online setting, which were previously submitted manually.
That is one of the many benefits expected from the system, which was officially launched at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday morning.
The basic functions of the system are completed and full integration is expected by the end of March.
With the launch, Barbados joined Singapore as the only two countries smaller than 300 square miles using the Electronic Single Window.
There are 49 other countries, including Trinidad as the only other in the Caribbean, which are using the system which provides a single online interface for the exchange of trade documents between the trading community and relevant Government agencies for processing and approval. (YB)
