KRAIGG BRATHWAITE struck his second century of the WICB Regional Super50 Tournament to help Barbados Pride to a challenging total against ICC Americas at the Windward Club ground in Lucas Street, St Philip, today.

Opener Brathwaite made a measured 108 off 134 balls and featured in three successive half-century partnerships to lead unbeaten Barbados Pride to 282 for nine after they opted to bat first on winning the toss.

Left-hander Jonathan Carter weighed in with a breezy 57 off 56 balls while Roston Chase also batted enterprisingly in scoring 40 off 32 balls.

Brathwaite put on 79 for the second wicket with Shai Hope, who made 27, and added 92 for the third wicket with Carter and 66 for the fourth wicket with Chase.

The dismissal of Chase led to a flow of wickets in the closing overs as the batsmen tried to lift the tempo. As the result, five wickets fell for 42 runs.

Brathwaite’s century followed his 101 against Guyana Jaguars in Barbados Pride’s first match of the tournament last week Tuesday. (HG)
