Man admits to killing teen

IT WAS a case that took detectives six years to solve and a further four years for Ryan Antonio Oneal Bullen to admit to the brutal slaying of a teenager.

Yesterday the mystery of how 14-year-old Kalifa Downes, a former Lodge student, met her death between April 14 and 20, 2007 was solved when Bullen, who was charged with murder, pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Bullen, 38, whose address at one time was 1st Avenue Maxwell, Christ Church, has 26 convictions, including three for rape and several for robberies.

Downes body was found on April 20, 2007 near Pine pasture at the back of the Pine Hill Dairy in St Michael, a short distance from her Lower Burney, St Michael home. (TKS)
