Plenty cheers for Red champions

TO THE strains of Dwayne Bravo’s popular song Champion, defending champions Red House of George Lamming Primary School yesterday took their victory lap around the track at the National Stadium.

They amassed 544 points, well ahead of Purple House, who earned 429 points. Third-placed Gold House tallied 410 points, while Blue House collected 400 points.

Victrix ludorum, Purple House’s Ebony Atherley, earned 44 points after placing first in the 100, 200 and 600 metres races, and second in the long jump, cricket ball throw and 400 metres. Her performance also earned her the Under-13 Girls’ division title.

Other girls division champions were Under-11 Ebony Jones of Red House with 38 points, Under-9 Leslie Griffith, also of Red House, with 43 points, and Under-7 Diamond Harris of Purple House, with 20 points.

The title of victor ludorum went to Jordan Mayers of Blue House, who amassed 50 points after winning the long jump, cricket ball throw, 100, 200 and 400 metres. He also took the Under-13 Boys division title.

Other boys’ division champions were Under-11, Trisan Burke, of Blue House with 34 points, Under-9 Jaheim Adams of Purple House with 37 points, and Under-7 Christian Harding of Gold House, who earned 20 points. (RA)
