ANOTHER MAJOR, another gut-wrenching exit for Darian King.

The king of swing is feeling more like the heartbreak kid now, having suffered yet another painful defeat in the second-round of qualifying at the Australian Open yesterday.

Playing against American Denis Kudla on court 15, King squandered a one-set lead and a late break in the third set before losing an agonisingly tough 4-6, 6-4, 6-4 contest to the 18th seed.

It was his third straight second-round defeat in the qualifying rounds of a Grand Slam following similarly heartbreaking losses at last year’s Wimbledon and US Open. (JM)
