Carnival at Sugar Bay as new year beckons

IT WAS NOT carnival like how Barbadians know it, but those ringing in the new year at Sugar Bay Barbados, Hastings, Christ Church, had a grand time.

Guests seemed to be having fun among themselves, donning brightly coloured plumage and festive fedoras.

The sounds of laughter and New Orleans jazz filled the air, and Barbadian, Brazilian and Trinidadian food was on offer for those who attended, all contributing to a great experience.

The party, appropriately named Carnivals of the World, treated guests to decor that matched the theme, with vivid lighting, bright headpieces hanging on the walls and masks to match.

Guests were also treated to live and deejay music as they awaited the start of 2017. (JJS)
