WEST INDIES WOMEN’S team coach Vasbert Drakes says he hopes the head injury which key all-rounder Deandra Dottin sustained while playing Twenty20 cricket in Australia isn’t a serious one and she will have a speedy recovery.
After receiving medical attention, Dottin was discharged from hospital, but reports say the severity of the injury, sustained in a collision with a teammate in a Women’s Big Bash League match, won’t be known until results of her X-rays are evaluated today. 
The powerfully built all-rounder collided heavily with teammate Laura Harris when they tried to field a ball on the boundary while playing for Brisbane Heat against Melbourne Stars yesterday at the Allan Border Field in Brisbane.
Dottin, a versatile 25-year-old sportswoman who has won multiple gold medals in athletics for Barbados at the CARIFTA Games, was stretchered from the field after the incident. (EZS/CMC)
