DON’T COUNT out Seanon Williams just yet.

The seasoned player has made a strong case for retaining his Davis Cup spot, having beaten age-old rival Russell Moseley in straight sets to advance to today’s BTA Invitational final at the National Tennis Centre.

Playing in front a sizeable crowd, including new captain Damien Applewhaite and world No. 152 Darian King, Williams won the last five games on a canter in a surprisingly routine 6-4, 6-1 victory over his long-time teammate.

The result set up a rematch with Davis Cup hopeful Matthew Foster-Estwick after the towering Hampton University player won his concurring semi-final against fellow collegian Xavier Lawrence 6-3, 6-3. (JM)
